Last semester, I pushed my creative and physical limits making this animation. It was a tough semester, and the hours spent working on this project provided a necessary break from the hustle and hard times of college life.
The scenes are loosely inspired by visual metaphors in the poem "Fishmonger" by Marsden Hartley, which captures the struggle to feel satisfaction with oneself based on validation from others. This is the first piece of art I've made in the last few years that I can genuinely say I'm proud of, not just because of the hours I spent working on it, but because it's one of the first pieces I've made for myself and not others.
